The artificial grass is a synthetic grass-like synthetic fiber which is implanted on a woven base fabric, and the back is coated with a chemical product having a natural grass motion property as a fixed coating. Widely used in sports and leisure venues.
chemical composition:
Most of the raw materials are polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), and polyvinyl chloride and polyamide can also be used. The leaves are green with natural grass and need to add UV absorber.
Polyethylene (PE): It is softer in hand, and its appearance and sports performance are closer to natural grass, which is widely accepted by users. It is currently the most widely used artificial grass fiber raw material on the market.
Polypropylene (PP): The grass fiber is hard and is generally suitable for tennis courts, playgrounds, runways or decorations. Abrasion resistance is slightly worse than polyethylene.
Nylon: It is the earliest artificial grass fiber raw material and belongs to the first generation of artificial grass fiber.
Material structure:
Artificial grass consists of 3 layers of material. The foundation layer consists of a compacted soil layer, a gravel layer and an asphalt or concrete layer. The foundation layer is required to be solid, non-deformable, and the surface is smooth and impervious to water, which is a general concrete site. Due to the large area of the hockey field, the foundation layer must be handled during construction to prevent subsidence. If the concrete layer is laid, the expansion joint is cut after the concrete is solidified to prevent thermal expansion deformation and cracks.
Above the base layer is a layer of cushioning, usually of rubber or foam. The rubber has a moderate elasticity and a thickness of 3 to 5 mm. The cost of using foam is lower, but the elasticity is poor, the thickness is 5~10mm, the thick lawn is too soft, and it is easy to be sunken; too thin and lack of elasticity, can not play the buffering effect. The buffer layer should be firmly adhered to the base layer, and it is usually pasted with white latex or universal adhesive.
The third layer, also the surface layer, is the turf layer. According to the surface shape of the manufacture, there are pile turf, round curled nylon silk turf, leaf-shaped polypropylene fiber turf, permeable turf prepared by nylon yarn, and the like. This layer must also be glued to rubber or foam. During the construction, it is necessary to apply the glue completely, and press it tightly in order, so that it cannot be wrinkled.
In foreign countries, there are two kinds of turf layers: 1. The turf layer is relatively thin, only 1.2~1.5mm; 2. The turf fiber is thicker, 20~24mm, and it is filled with quartz to almost the top of the fiber.
